YITS Cohort A - Dependent Children

- This module contains information of the dependent children of the youth. Links to related code books are provided at the bottom.
- Since cohort A are just 15 years old when they are first interviewed, no specific question was designed for them on this topic in cycle 1. The only information available is number of the student's birth child living in the student's parent's home which can be derived from a series of questions about household members collected from the YITS parent questionnaire. Starting from cycle 2, the YITS questionnaire for cohort A includes a set of questions covering information of the dependent children of the youth during each reference period. In Cycle 2, data are stored in "Person Level Main File". From Cycle 3 to Cycle 4, data are stored in a Roster file "Dependent Children". Therefore, the data structure and variable names change from Cycle 2 to Cycle 3. Please keep this point in mind and use the data carefully.
